Women Owned Law Firm Boot Camp
Have you considered how you could be your own boss? Have you dreamed about starting your own law firm, but you don’t know how to start Get an insider’s view when women law firm founders and leaders pull back the curtain on how woman lawyers can launch their own firm and thrive.
This dynamic virtual workshop and networking experience will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. EST.
You will gain essential knowledge to start and run your own law firm, focusing on critical areas such as operations, client service and best practices for sustainable growth. You will learn effective strategies to plan for opening day and then managing daily operations, through practical sessions, led by successful women and law firm owners.
This interactive boot camp is designed to equip women lawyers with the vital, proven knowledge they need to launch and lead thriving practices. In addition to learning alongside our experienced panelists, our dynamic event will feature several opportunities to network with other attorneys in breakout sessions, so you’ll glean not only knowledge but hopefully also some new, like-minded contacts.
Agenda:
11:00-11:20 am EST: Kickoff and community-building exercise in breakout rooms
11:20-12:00 EST: Panel 1: Getting Ready to Take the Plunge. This panel will answer questions like:
- How do I know when I’m ready to launch my own firm?
- Which resources will I need?
- Which services should I offer?
- Who is my ideal client? How will I find them (and they find me)?
12:10 EST: Networking in breakout rooms
12:30-1:10 EST: Panel 2: Dollars and Cents. This panel will answer questions like:
- How will I fund my venture?
- What should I consider when pricing my services?
- How can I monitor my numbers so I can sleep at night?
1:15-2 p.m.: Breakouts with Experts
Take a deeper dive into key aspects of launching and running a firm, like marketing, staffing and technology in your selected breakout room.

This securely stored payment profile will be used, when authorized, for automated recurring payments and will allow for easier and faster checkouts. No credit card information is stored within Member365 (the WBA's website vendor) and all payment data is accessed by way of a secure API. Who can access the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia member portal?
Please note that the WBA member portal is to be used by members of WBA only. Certain workspaces within the member portal will be tailored for and restricted to certain membership types; access to these areas will be determined and approved by WBA staff. The Content that is displayed in your member portal will automatically vary based on your user / membership type.
