We all know that DC's lack of statehood means that the 700,000 residents of our nation's capital lack representation in Congress, but far fewer are aware that the lack of DC statehood impacts DC residents' ability to access abortion every single day. Join the WBADC, Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC and the DC Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society for a panel discussion about the impact of DC's lack of statehood on the right to access abortion featuring DC Councilmember Robert White, statehood activist and former WBA President Lorelie Masters, Georgetown Professor Jill Morrison, and DC Vote's Program Director Kelsye Adams. The panel will provide an overview of the current state of affairs in abortion rights; issues regarding DC home rule and the fight for DC statehood; and an indepth look at the issues' interrelatedness, including identifying concrete action steps for statehood and abortion advocates alike.

There is no cost to attend but registration is required.
