About the Speakers:

Ryan Baker:
Ryan launched his career as a Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual in 2006.  In 2011, he went on to join Merrill Lynch Wealth Management where is currently a Senior Financial Advisor.

For Ryan, helping clients make informed decisions is an ongoing mission. With clients often focused on daily tasks – both professional and personal – Ryan reminds clients to keep their long-term goals in mind, and see him as a “go-to” resource supported by the vast capabilities of a global financial institution.

Ryan grew up in Catonsville, Maryland and attended Loyola Blakefield, before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin School of Business.  Today, Ryan is a resident in the District of Columbia, where he has become an active member within the community.  

Gaffar Chowdhury
Gaffar Chowdhury has been in the financial services for the last 16 years working with high income earning individuals and closely held businesses. He spent his career sharpening and practicing his skill under three leading financial services firms. Gaffar launched District Wealth Strategies with a heightened focus on client service and an intention to disrupt the traditional approach to personal and business financial strategies. His team's vision is to help clients mitigate taxes, build and protect generational wealth, and make financial conversations more approachable.

Gaffar was born in Bangladesh and has lived in the DC area for over 30 years. He is the current President of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors - Greater Washington DC chapter and a past board member/longstanding advocate of the Women's Bar Association Foundation of DC. Through his nonprofit board leadership, Gaffar has developed a passion for charitable giving and helping others make a lasting impact through philanthropic planning.

Stacey Nichols
Stacey joined Merrill in September of 2019, after relocating from New York City to the DC Metropolitan region. Stacey brings a wide breadth of professional experience comprised of a background in strategic planning within the Advertising industry and having spent over a decade in the Retail Banking industry, which has afforded her the opportunity to work alongside high net worth clients to understand, tailor and achieve their financial objectives.

Most pointedly as a former Relationship Banker, Stacey’s philosophy for building and managing client relationships is centered on transparent understanding of client needs, developing strategic insights and following through with informed decision making. Whether assisting with standard account maintenance or working to execute more complex tasks around safeguarding against fraud and estate execution, Stacey has developed a knack for understanding and acting on the needs for her clients.
