The WBA is co-hosting an event with the National Women’s Law Center on the range of issues facing women under the current administration.  Issues of diversity, equity and inclusion will be addressed along with actions taken by the Administration that directly impact the Rule of Law and issues of importance to women lawyers and women more generally.

Emily Martin of the NWLC will provide insight into issues confronting women lawyers at this historical time. Emily is Chief Program Officer for NWLC, leading the development and execution of an integrated policy and legal strategy across NWLC’s gender justice priorities, with a particular focus on women and girls of color and LGBTQI+ people.

Professor Jamie Abrams from the Washington College of Law at American University will provide her insight from her perspective as a law professor.  She is also active and engaged in her community. She co-founded the Brandeis Human Rights Advocacy Program at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, which works actively with other nonprofits and stakeholders in the community to advance the human rights of immigrants, refugees and non-citizens.
